Swiss-based forwarder Kuehne + Nagel has agreed to pay a US$9.9 million fine to end an anti-trust case brought against it by the US government reports Kizzi Nkowcha of IFW.
The US District of Columbia court approved a plea bargain deal reached by the company and the US Department of Justice in September last year. Both the DoJ and the court acknowledged K+N’s cooperative handling of the case.
K+N still faces prosecution in New Zealand where it is the last defendant standing in a long-running anti-cartel action after the other companies implicated reached a separate deal with the New Zealand authorities.
